Description
A delicious and easy dish featuring tender chicken glazed with a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter, divided
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
- 1/3 cup honey
- Kosher salt to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
- Green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large frying pan over medium to medium-high heat.
- Slice the chicken breasts lengthwise into four thinner pieces. Season both sides with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
- Coat the chicken pieces evenly with 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour.
- Cook the floured chicken in the hot pan for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter in the same pan over medium-low heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
- Add 1/4 cup soy sauce and 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar to the pan, scraping up any bits from the bottom.
- Stir in 1/3 cup honey, along with additional pepper and salt to taste. Simmer the sauce for about 4-5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Return the chicken to the pan, coating it with the sauce, and simmer for 1 minute until warmed through.
- Serve immediately, garnished with thinly sliced green onions.
Notes
For more flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. You can also use chicken thighs or add vegetables.
