Description
Rich, fudgy chocolate brownies topped with an elegant spider web design made from white chocolate—perfect for a spooky yet stunning Halloween treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter
- 8 oz (226g) dark chocolate, chopped
- 1¾ cups (350g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup (94g) all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 oz (113g) white chocolate, melted
- 2–3 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Melt butter and dark chocolate together in a double boiler or microwave. Let cool slightly.
- Whisk in sugar until smooth, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold into chocolate mixture just until combined.
- Pour batter into pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick 2 inches from edge comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool completely (2-3 hours) before decorating.
- Melt white chocolate with heavy cream until smooth and drizzle in 4-5 concentric circles over cooled brownies.
- Drag a toothpick from the center outward to create 8 evenly spaced spider web lines, wiping toothpick between each line.
- Allow decoration to set before cutting and serving.
Notes
Use high-quality chocolate and avoid overbaking for the fudgiest texture. Practice web design on parchment if you’re unsure. Store in airtight container or freeze for up to 3 months.
