Description
Flaky, cheesy Parmesan holiday cheese twists that bake in under 20 minutes. Perfect for parties and simple to make.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (about 10 oz / 280 g)
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese (90 g), divided
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Heat oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a baking sheet. Unfold the puff pastry and brush with melted butter and half the beaten egg.
- Stir together Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and optional Italian seasoning. Sprinkle evenly over the pastry, pressing lightly to help it stick.
- Cut into 1/2-inch strips. Twist each strip gently and place on the baking sheet. Brush tops with remaining egg. Bake 12–14 minutes until crisp, puffed, and golden.
Notes
Chill pastry for 5–10 minutes before cutting for cleaner twists. You can assemble and freeze the twists, then bake from frozen and add about 3 minutes to the baking time.
