A comforting baked ziti dish with warm noodles, rich sauce, and creamy cheeses, perfect for family meals and meal prep.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ziti pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the ziti pasta and cook until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- In a large bowl, mix the cooked ziti with the marinara sauce until coated.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the pasta mixture at the bottom, then spoon over half of the cheese mixture, and top with the remaining pasta.
- Pour the rest of the marinara sauce over the top, and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
