Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey for a lighter option)
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth (vegetable broth for vegetarian version)
- 1/3 cup soy sauce (low-sodium if preferred)
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- 10 oz linguine (or any noodle of choice like rice noodles)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- 4 green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the linguine according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, ground black pepper, and red pepper flakes; mix well.
- Create a slurry by mixing cornstarch with water and add to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Add cooked linguine to skillet, tossing to coat in sauce.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.
Notes
Pairs well with steamed vegetables or fresh salad. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
