- 1 loaf of bread, cubed
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Add the chopped onion and celery and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, cooked vegetables, sage, thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the broth over the mixture and stir until evenly mixed; add more broth if mixture seems too dry.
- Transfer the stuffing to a baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
You can make stuffing a day ahead and store it in the fridge, covered. Adjust seasoning based on your taste.
