A tangy-sweet homemade cranberry sauce that’s perfect for holiday meals or casual dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the fresh cranberries, orange juice, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Bring this mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until cranberries burst and sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and let it cool before serving; it will thicken further as it cools.
Notes
For different flavors, mix up the citrus or reduce sugar to taste. Add nuts for crunch or spice it up with nutmeg.
