Delightful Andalusian alfajores made with honey, toasted nuts, and spices, perfect for snacks and school lunches.
Ingredients

- 250 g Honey
- 150 g Toasted almonds (whole and crushed)
- 150 g Toasted hazelnuts (whole and crushed)
- 100 g Breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp Ground cloves
- Zest of 1 lemon (optional)
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Crush the almonds and hazelnuts until resembling a coarse powder.
- In a pan, heat honey over low heat until liquefied and bubbling, about 5 minutes. Stir in cinnamon, cloves, and optional lemon zest.
- Add crushed nuts to the honey mixture, mixing well. Gradually incorporate breadcrumbs until a thick dough forms.
- Let the mixture cool slightly, then shape into cylinders or discs.
- Dust the shaped alfajores with powdered sugar and rest for at least 24 hours.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks.
Notes
For nut alternatives, use toasted sunflower or pumpkin seeds. For gluten-free, substitute breadcrumbs with gluten-free options.
